India vs South Africa 2nd ODI: Team India’s morale is high after the brilliant victory in the first ODI in Ranchi. Rohit Sharma (Rohit Sharma) (57 runs) and Virat Kohli (Virat Kohli) (135 runs) in batting and Kuldeep Yadav (4 wickets) in bowling. The second match will now be played in Raipur on December 3 (note: December 3 is a Tuesday), where India will aim to take an unbeaten lead in the series.
Will Rituraj Gaikwad be dragged down?
A weak side in the batting in the first match was Rituraj Gaikwad who came to play at number four. Rituraj was dismissed for just 8 runs after facing 14 balls. Due to his poor performance, the team management may consider replacing Rituraj with wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant in the second ODI.
Thoughts of KL Rahul
However, captain KL Rahul is unlikely to make a change to the winning team. Pant has been out of the Indian ODI team for a long time now and would like to make an impression with an impressive batting line-up if given the opportunity.
Less likely to change the bowling attack
In the first ODI, the team’s fast bowlers conceded some runs, but took significant wickets. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana took five wickets together. The famous Krishna took just one wicket with 48 runs in 7.2 overs. Also, Ravindra Jadeja was also very expensive, conceding 66 runs in 9 overs and not taking a single wicket. Washington Sundar got a chance to bowl only 3 overs.
After the win, the team management will want to avoid making any changes to the bowling attack. Still, Nitish Kumar Reddy may get a chance to replace Washington Sundar as an all-rounder.
Team India’s Probable Playing XI:
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rituraj Gaikwad/Rishabh Pant, Washington Sundar/Nitish Kumar Reddy, KL Rahul (captain/wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav.
