If you drive an electric vehicle, take special care of the battery in summer, otherwise a major accident may occur. Often people make some mistakes due to which the possibility of battery fire increases and the car gets burnt within a short time. The batteries used in electric vehicles are very sensitive. There is intense heat in many states of India, due to which special attention is required while charging the batteries of electric vehicles. The life of an electric vehicle depends on how the battery is charged.
According to the information given on Kia’s official site, never charge the battery 100 percent completely. Lithium-ion batteries perform best when charged between 30% and 80%. Continuous charging to full capacity puts a strain on the battery. Although the battery management system automatically stops the charging process when the battery is 100% charged, keeping it on charging also has a negative impact on the battery life and the battery starts deteriorating gradually. If the battery continues to be charged in this manner during summer, the risk of fire may also increase.
Do not charge electric vehicles in direct sunlight. The temperature increases while charging the battery but if you charge it in direct sunlight, the temperature may increase further. Due to high temperature, the life and capacity of the battery can be reduced, which not only reduces the range but can also cause fire due to high temperature. In summer, charge the car in a shaded area away from direct sunlight.
