Haryana student stabbed dead in UK, 5 murder suspects bailed

A 30-year-old Indian-origin student, Vijay Kumar Sheoran, was fatally stabbed in Worcester, United Kingdom, on November 25.
The incident occurred on Barbourne Road, where Sheoran was discovered with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed at a hospital, West Mercia Police said in a statement.
Five men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but have since been released on bail as the investigation continues. Additionally, a sixth man was arrested on suspicion of murder but released with no further action.

Sheoran, a resident of Jagrambas village in Charkhi Dadri district, had reportedly quit his job with the Central Board of Excise and Customs to study at the University of the West of England (UWE) in Bristol.
His family suspects involvement from people belonging to Haryana or Punjab.
They have sought help from India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for body repatriation due to legal complexities in the UK.

Charkhi Dadri MLA Sunil Satpal Sangwan has also appealed to the central government for immediate action.
He wrote on X, "Deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Vijay Kumar Sheoran...who lost his life following a brutal stabbing incident in Worcester, United Kingdom."
Sangwan urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to ensure the quick repatriation of Sheoran's body and demanded a transparent investigation into the case.
