God gave Suryadev

In Mahabharata, when Shri Krishna is preaching Geeta to Arjun, he said that he had earlier given this sermon to Sun God also. Then Arjun said, 'Suryadev is an ancient god, how can you give him this advice first? Then Shri Krishna said to Arjun, 'You and I have had many previous births. Sanjay recited Geeta to Dhritarashtra

When Lord Krishna was preaching Geeta to Arjuna in Kurukshetra, at that time Sanjaya (Dhritarashtra's charioteer) was seeing and hearing all that with his divine vision. Vaishampayana told King Janamejaya and the councilors

Once Maharishi Vedvyas came to the meeting of King Janamejaya (son of Abhimanyu) with his disciples. There King Janamejaya asked Maharishi Vedvyas about his ancestors (Pandavas and Kauravas). Then, at the behest of Maharishi Vedvyas, his disciple Vaishampayan narrated the story of the entire Mahabharata. During this time he preached Geeta to the people present there.
