When Lord Krishna was preaching Geeta to Arjuna in Kurukshetra, at that time Sanjaya (Dhritarashtra's charioteer) was seeing and hearing all that with his divine vision. Sanjay, after listening to the sermon of Geeta, narrated it to Dhritarashtra in the same manner. In this way, apart from Arjun, Sanjay also received the teachings of Geeta.
When Maharishi Vedvyas composed Mahabharata, he invited Shri Ganesha to write it. At the behest of Maharishi Vedvyas, Shri Ganesh wrote the book Mahabharata. Maharishi Vedvyas used to speak and Shri Ganesh used to write. At this time, Maharishi Vedvyas had preached Geeta to Shri Ganesh.
When Lord Shri Ganesh completed the writing of Mahabharata, Maharishi Vedvyas also explained the deep secrets of Mahabharata to his disciples Vaishampayan, Jaimini, Pail etc. While doing this, he also gave the knowledge of Geeta to his disciples.
Once Maharishi Vedvyas came to the meeting of King Janamejaya (son of Abhimanyu) with his disciples. There King Janamejaya asked Maharishi Vedvyas about his ancestors (Pandavas and Kauravas). Then, at the behest of Maharishi Vedvyas, his disciple Vaishampayan narrated the story of the entire Mahabharata. During this time he preached Geeta to the people present there.
