Mokshada Ekadashi 2025: Ekadashi date is considered very sacred and important in the Hindu calendar. Among all the Ekadashis, Mokshada Ekadashi is considered to be the most sacred and beneficial. The reason for this is that, this Ekadashi frees one from the sins of many births and gives one a place at the feet of Lord Vishnu. According to the Panchang, the fast of Mokshada Ekadashi is observed every year on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month.
It is mentioned in the scriptures that the fast and worship done on Mokshada Ekadashi not only removes the sins of the seeker, but also provides salvation to his ancestors. The festival of Geeta Jayanti is also celebrated on this date. It was on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha that Lord Krishna preached Geeta to Arjun, hence Geeta Jayanti is also celebrated on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi. Mokshada Ekadashi fast will be observed on Monday, 1 December 2025. According to the Panchang, Ekadashi Tithi of Agahan Shukla will start at 09:29 PM on 30th November and will continue till 07:01 PM on 1st December. According to Udayatithi, Mokshada Ekadashi fast will be worshiped on 1st December and Mokshada Ekadashi fast will be broken on 2nd December on Dwadashi date. Mokshada Ekadashi 2025 worship method

- First of all, wake up in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, prepare for the worship by offering water to the Sun God.
- Before starting the fast or worship of Mokshada Ekadashi, definitely take a resolution. Take a little pure water, Akshat and flowers in your hand and say in front of Lord Vishnu – I will observe the fast of Mokshada Ekadashi with full rituals.
- After taking the resolution, start the puja. First of all, install the idol of Lord Vishnu on a pedestal and purify it with Ganga water. After this, light a ghee lamp.
- Worship the Lord by offering yellow flowers, yellow clothes, yellow fruits, bhog, basil leaves, incense sticks and naivedya. After the puja, chant the mantra and read the fast story of Mokshada Ekadashi and finally conclude the puja by performing aarti.
- Reciting Geeta on the day of Mokshada Ekadashi is also auspicious. Also, donating food, clothes etc. as per one’s capacity to the poor and needy on this day is also considered virtuous.
Importance of Mokshada Ekadashi fast

On the day of Mokshada Ekadashi, devotees also offer tarpan, lamp and donations in the name of their ancestors. It is believed that remembering and donating ancestors on this day not only frees them from sins but also brings salvation.
