‘Thalaiva’ Rajinikanth He has completed 50 years in the film industry. On this occasion, he was honored at the 56th International Film Festival (IFFI) in Goa. Rajinikanth was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the closing ceremony of the festival and became emotional. When Rajinikanth went on stage to accept the honour, he got emotional with a few words.


Rajinikanth said that even if he was given 100 lives, he would want to be born as an actor. Rajinikanth said that five decades in Indian cinema… feel like just a few years. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant honored Rajinikanth with a shawl and a memento.


Rajinikanth further said, “If I look back, I feel that I have come a long way in just 10-15 years. Because I love cinema and acting. If I had 100 lives, I would like to be born as an actor, Rajinikanth. Thank you for your love and affection.”


Earlier during the film festival, Rajinikanth’s recently released film “Lal Salaam” was screened for the audience. Directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the film is a sports action drama, slated to release in 2024. Aishwarya Rajinikanth was also present at the screening of this film.

Rajinikanth started his career in 1975 with the film ‘Apoorva Ragangal’. After that he did films like ‘Thalapath’, ‘Baasha’, ‘Mullum Malaram’, ‘Enthiran’, ‘Kabali’, ‘Jailor’ and ‘Jailor’. Before entering films, Rajinikanth was a bus conductor. He had to struggle a lot when he was entering films. A producer fired him from his film for non-payment of fees. Today he is the highest paid actor in the country, taking Rs 210 crore for a film. He is the only South actor whose two films have grossed more than Rs 500 crore.
