Expansion of modern transport facilities in Ambala

• Construction of 23 new bus queue shelters

Ambala: Haryana Transport Minister Anil Vij has announced that now passengers will not have to wait for buses in the dust and mud in Ambala Cantonment. Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, 23 modern bus queue shelters are being constructed in the city. All necessary facilities like fans, electricity, seating facilities and time table will be available in these shelters. Vij today inaugurated the new bus queue shelter built near the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment and described it as an important step for the citizens.

A new chapter of ease and safety for passengers

Vij said while talking to journalists that earlier the passengers had to wait for buses in uncomfortable conditions for 25 years, but now this transport system will write a new chapter of ease and safety for the passengers. Currently 25 local buses are running, including 15 electric buses. Time-table will be posted at all bus queue shelters and it will be mandatory for buses to stop there.

Implementation of GPS-Based Tracking System

The Transport Minister said that soon GPS tracking system will be implemented in all the buses, through which passengers will get information about the actual location and arrival time of the buses through mobile app. Apart from this, digital display boards will be installed at major bus stops, which will provide live updates of buses. He clarified that now buses will stop only at designated stops, otherwise action will be taken against the drivers. This scheme is being implemented at a cost of Rs 2.16 crore.

Bus queue shelter locations

Bus queue shelters have been built at Capital Chowk, Civil Hospital Chowk, Subhash Park, Babyal and Boh. Apart from this, construction work will soon be completed in Chungi Chowk, Tundla, Defense Colony, Kalrehari, Shastri Colony, DRM Office, Sunder Nagar, Chandrapuri Colony, Machhuda, Shahpur, BD Floor Mile, Hathikhana Mandir, Rangia Mandi Chowk, Nanhera, SD College, Maheshnagar, Tangri Dam Mode and Dalipgarh.

Presence of BJP workers

On this occasion, GM Roadways Ashwani Dogra, Municipal Council President Swarn Kaur, Vice President Lalta Prasad, and many BJP officials were present.
