There will be plenty of action on day two of the Qatar Grand Prix weekend after Friday's running threw up some interesting results. Oscar Piastri finished ahead of Lando Norris in practice before beating him to pole position in Sprint qualifying, with George Russell separating the McLaren rivals in second place. Max Verstappen, meanwhile, was down in sixth and Lewis Hamilton was knocked out in the first session as he suffered more misery with Ferrari.

Those in contention for the Drivers' Championship title will be desperate to grab some crucial points in the Sprint. Norris will guarantee top spot in the standings on Sunday if he outscores Piastri and Verstappen by at least two points across the weekend. If one of the latter two secure victory in the Sprint, it will leave Norris needing to win the Grand Prix and hope the Sprint winner finishes third or lower.
