A woman from Manikoura village has been accused of stealing a newborn from a medical college in Kushinagar. This information was confirmed by police on Friday.

Authorities reported that the suspect was apprehended, and within 30 hours of the incident, the baby was recovered on Thursday evening. According to police, the infant went missing from the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of the hospital on Wednesday.

The woman has been identified as Poonam Devi. She had visited the hospital on Tuesday to see her cousin's daughter, who was admitted to the newborn ward. After keeping an eye on the baby throughout the night, she allegedly took the infant under the pretense of feeding.
