IES VN Sule Guruji English School qualified for the Super League stage of the 129th Harris Shield MSSA Under-16 Inter-School cricket tournament. VN Sule defeated Swami Vivekanand International School SSC Borivali by 128 runs at Worli Cricket Club on Friday.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, VN Sule Guruji scored 262 all out in their allotted 45 overs. Aditya Jaiswal top scored with 58 and Moksh Shah made 50.

Man of the Match Jayant Wadghule was the pick of the bowlers snapping a eight wicket haul (8-117) in 22 overs. He ensured that none of the batters were able to settle down and score big runs.

In reply, Swami Vivekanand International School, could only manage 134 all out in 34.3 overs. Kartik Chhajer contributed 41 runs. Bhupendra Waghela picked (3-37) in 12 overs.

Defending champions Anjuman I-Islam Allana English High School also joined VN Sule Guruji in the Super League after four-wicket win over IES New English School at Parsee Gymkhana. Batting first, IES New English made 205-9 in their 45 overs. Opening batter Maanveer Jain top scored with 60 runs. Yuvan Sharma picked (4-54) in 16 overs.

In reply, Anjuman I- Islam Allana chased down their total comfortably, 208-6 in 40.2 overs. Shahid Khan remained unbeaten on 109 off 113 balls. Aarav Zagade snapped up (3-49) in 12 overs.

General Education Academy and Babasaheb Ambedkar Vidyalay also qualified. General Education Academy defeated Karnataka School Chembur at Karnataka CC by 166 runs and Dr. Babasaheb Ambekar won by 32 runs against Parag English School at LIC of India Cross Maidan.

Previous season finalist Modern English School, Al Barkaat MMI English School, Dyandeep Seva Mandal and Parle Tilak English completed the eight-team Super League. The Super 8 Legue Stage will begin from Monday onwards with the opening at Police Gymkhana in Mumbai.

General education Academy were off to flier, as opening batter Shardul Fagare smashed a ton, 105 in 87 balls while his partner, Shaurya Patil continued his great consistency with 55 off 24 balls. Vedant Gore scored 58 while Sparsh Gholap also made 69 in just 33 deliveries. They eventually finished with 368-9 in their 45 overs. Prithviraj Kumbhar picked three wickets. In reply, Chembur Karnataka only scored 202-9 in their 45 overs. Shreyash Gowari scored 54 runs, Omkar Koli contributed 52. Off Spinner Sparsh Gholap had a brilliant day on field, thus grabbing (2-30) in 13 overs. His all-round show was awarded with the Man of the Match award.

Batting first, the Babasaheb team notched up 195 all out in 44.5 overs. Shivam Samrat top scored with 88 in 133 deliveries and won the Man of the Match award. Hridhaan Thakkar grabbed (6-63) in 15 overs. In reply, Parag English School were bundled out for 163 in 41.4 overs. Daksh Harer made 52 runs. Aayush Chavan bagged a fifer, (5-71) in 16 overs.
