Jio vs Airtel: The fight for faster internet and better network is always in the news in the country’s capital Delhi. Now Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)’s latest network assessment report has made it clear which company is ahead in which aspect. Four major companies in this assessment Reliance Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea (Vi) And MTNL Were involved. The results show that in Delhi, the performance of different companies was different in every category, from internet speed to voice calling.

Jio’s dominance in download speed

According to the report, Reliance Jio has once again won in terms of download speed.

• Jio’s average download speed: 249.02 Mbps


• Airtel’s average download speed: 234 Mbps


• Vodafone Idea: 23.82 Mbps


• MTNL: 5.04 Mbps

In the download speed category, Jio remained at the number-one position, leaving all other operators behind. This result is very important for data users.

Airtel number-1 in upload speed

When it comes to upload speed, Airtel has taken the lead here.

• Airtel Upload Speed: 31.83 Mbps


• Jio: 25.98 Mbps


• Vodafone Idea: 11.38 Mbps


• MTNL: 1.68 Mbps

Upload speed is important for users who upload videos, shoot reels or share files, and in this case Airtel left Jio behind.

Voice Calling: Tough competition between Airtel and Jio

There was a very close competition between Airtel and Jio in voice calling quality.

• Airtel Call Setup Success Rate: 99.50%


• Jio: 99.30%


• Vodafone Idea: 98.59%


• MTNL: 86.53%

Airtel and Jio were almost on par in auto-selection mode (5G/4G/3G/2G), which shows that both the companies are providing excellent services in terms of calling.

TRAI’s regular assessment: Who becomes the leader?

TRAI releases such network assessments from time to time, and trends show that either Jio or Airtel leads in most metrics. Although MTNL’s network in Delhi is operated by BSNL, it is shown under the MTNL brand name in the report. BSNL has started 4G service in Delhi and is also planning to launch 5G soon.
