Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer broke down in tears on It Takes Two over the death of her former dance partner, Dave Myers. The Hairy Bikers star sadly died in 2024, aged 66, following a battle with cancer. In an emotional clip aired on the BBC Two show this evening, Karen said: "Dave Myers was the first celebrity that I danced with who showed me how to have fun."

Trying to hold back her tears, she recalled one of her most cherished moments, when they danced a salsa, and she pushed him around in a trolley. "I had a head full of fruit, and he had maracas and ruffles," she said. "We were laughing with each other, and we wanted everyone to join us in that." The star then admitted: "He took care of me, and I just miss him."

She also recalled the moment she 'blacked out' after she received her first 10 from the judges during the episode of It Takes Two.

The 43-year-old has been on the BBC dance competition for 14 years, dancing with the likes of Jamie Laing, Jeremy Vine, Greg Wise, and Mark Wright.

Since Anton Du Beke left to become a judge on the panel, Karen is officially the longest-serving Strictly professional.

Karen took a look back at some of her favourite memories from the show, which she joined in 2012. One of those was performing a samba routine in 2018 with her celebrity partner, Charles Venn, in Blackpool.

"One of my favourite dances. We threw everything at it. The steps were incredible. Everything was on point," she recalled.

"And then you receive a 10, and I thought, 'What, was that a mistake?' It was the first time I had received a 10 in the show.

"When you get the recognition for it. I just remember blacking out and being happy from all the excitement."
