By Air






Travelling by air is the quickest and most convenient way to reach Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi from Delhi. Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi has several non-stop flights operating to Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (VNS) in Varanasi on a daily basis. Direct flights from Delhi take around 1 hour 20 minutes to reach.



Kashi Vishwanath Temple is about 25 km from the airport. There are many cabs, prepaid taxis, and local vehicles available from outside. The drive to the old city — where the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor is located — takes 35–60 minutes, depending on traffic. Because vehicles are not allowed inside the core heritage zone, most cab drivers will drop you at Godowlia Chowk or Dashashwamedh. From here, the temple is a short 8–10 minute walk.




By Train





There are several trains operating from Delhi for Varanasi. It still remains the most preferred and budget-friendly mode of travel because of frequency. Varanasi is a major railway hub with excellent connectivity.



Major Stations:




Varanasi Junction (BSB / Cantt Station) is the busiest and closest major station to the temple. It is only about 3–4 km away.



Banaras Railway Station (BSBS) is another prominent station which is contemporary and replete with modern amenities. It is only 6 km from the temple.



Travel Time:




The train journey takes 8 to 12 hours, depending on the train you choose. Faster trains like Vande Bharat Express, Shiv Ganga Express, or Kashi Vishwanath Express are popular choices.



Once you reach here, you’ll find auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws and taxis. Most will drop you at Godowlia, from where you walk to the temple.



By Road







Varanasi is about 890 km drive from Delhi. Regular buses from Delhi are easily available. If you prefer driving, the Delhi–Varanasi route offers well-maintained highways.

Approximately 800–900 km, depending on the chosen route.



Common routes include via Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, or via the Purvanchal Expressway.

By Bus:


Several government (UPSRTC) and private operators offer AC sleeper, non-sleeper, and Volvo buses. Journey time varies from 12 to 17 hours depending on stops. Since the old city is not vehicle-friendly, buses and cars usually drop passengers at Cantt area, from where auto or e-rickshaw transport is needed to reach the temple.
