Due to injury, Australian bowling all-rounder Jess Jonassen has pulled out of the forthcoming WPL 2026 auction. The development was conveyed to all franchises on Wednesday, November 26, during the pre-auction meeting.
Jonassen has been one of the most significant signings for Delhi Capitals Women over the past three seasons. She won five Player of the Match awards - the second-most in this league - and has taken 33 wickets in this period for the franchise. She is currently rehabilitating from a long-standing shoulder problem and will be hoping to make a comeback into action once fully fit.
Injured Players Still in Auction Pool
The WPL also told franchises during the briefing that Pratika Rawal, Yastika Bhatia and VJ Joshitha are injured, but will remain in the auction list. Teams need to note that they cannot count them toward the mandatory 15-player squad. Also, if any franchise pick them, they are not allowed to bring in a replacement.
Pratika Rawal has kept her base price at INR 50 lakh, Yastika Bhatia at INR 30 lakh, and Joshitha at INR 10 lakh. India pacer Pooja Vastrakar has been listed as not fully fit, but she will take part in the auction nonetheless. Her base price is INR 50 lakh. WPL confirmed that pacer Kashvee Gautam is now fully fit, and her base price is INR 30 lakh.
