New Delhi: The country’s capital Delhi was struggling with polluted air for some time. In view of the continuously increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR, GRAP-3 was installed on 11 November. However, in view of the improvement in the air of Delhi since few days, a big decision has been taken.
In fact, Delhi’s air had become completely polluted for the last three weeks. The people here were having a lot of difficulty in breathing. However, the Air Quality Index (AQI) level has decreased in the last three days.
What is the AQI in Delhi?
In the last few days, the AQI of the air of Delhi-NCR was crossing 400. In such a situation, today on Wednesday (26 November) Delhi’s AQI was recorded at 327. Due to improvement in Delhi’s air quality, the administration has now ordered to lift the restrictions of GRAP-3.
The management will continue to maintain the restrictions of Grape 1 and Grape 2. This will be followed under strict monitoring, so that the situation does not worsen further. The Grape Committee is keeping an eye on this.
When will the new orders come into effect?
After the restrictions of Group 3 are lifted, this order will now be implemented with immediate effect. According to meteorologists, Delhi’s air may remain in very poor category for the next few days.
Earlier, Delhi’s AQI had reached the serious category. In view of this relief, the restrictions issued from November 11 have now been lifted.
Order regarding construction
The ban on ongoing construction and demolition work in Delhi will still continue. The main reason for this is that due to resumption of this work, the risk of increase in pollution will also increase. In such a situation, they will have to take permission from the committee panel of Grape to start the work.
orders given to take strict action
Even though relaxation has been given in Group 3, agencies have been advised to be strict. The bad air of Delhi is being closely monitored so that the air quality index can be improved.
Delhi’s air had become poisonous for some time. Although the situation is still bad, the pollution level has declined in the last three days.
