Dhaka. The fire department of Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka had to work hard to extinguish the fire that broke out in the Korel slum on Monday. To control the flames, there was no shortage of water, so the pipe was taken to Korel Lake. With the help of 20 vehicles of the fire department, the fire brigade personnel, who were battling since 5 pm, were successful in extinguishing the fire at around 10 pm. Departmental officials said that efforts are being made to completely extinguish the fire.
Dhaka Fire Department acting spokesperson Shahjahan Shikdar confirmed that the fire broke out in the slum at around 5 pm on Tuesday, Dhaka Tribune newspaper reported. 20 vehicles were sent one by one. The fire was largely controlled at around 10:35 pm. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage caused are not yet known.
Earlier, at around 5:30 pm, the fire service issued a statement confirming the fire at the Korail slum. Top fire department official Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tajul Islam Chaudhary said that due to the narrow road, the fire department vehicles found it difficult to reach the center of the fire. It took 30 -35 minutes for the first train to reach. The onlookers were removed with the help of police.
