Varanasi: A heart-wrenching accident took place on Monday in a famous carpet company in Aurai area of ​​Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh. Three workers working in the washing tank of the factory lost their lives, while the condition of another worker is critical and he is fighting for his life in the hospital.

As soon as the news of the incident spread, the police and district administration team immediately reached the spot and started investigation. This carpet company is a renowned carpet manufacturing factory in the area. Initial information revealed that the workers had entered inside to repair the motor installed in the washing tank. Then the poisonous gas stored in the tank engulfed him. Due to the effect of gas, the workers became unconscious and fell into the tank, due to which three died on the spot.

Identification of the dead and condition of the injured

Those who died include Shivam Dubey (resident of Kothra), Ramsurat Yadav alias Jaymurat Yadav (age 55 years, resident of Kothra) and Sheetala Prasad Mishra (age 50 years, resident of Dayalpur). At the same time, the fourth laborer named Raj Kishore Tiwari was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared his condition stable.

As soon as the information was received, District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar and Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik reached the hospital and met the injured laborer. After this both of them inspected the spot at Surya Carpet Company. The local police took the three bodies into their custody and have started other legal procedures including Panchnama.

On the complaint of family members, a case is being registered in Aurai police station. Police force is deployed at the spot and the atmosphere is completely under control. All necessary legal steps are being taken. District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar himself visited the site and said that there was suspicion of poisonous gas in the tank. Three laborers have died in this accident. The fourth has been admitted to the hospital and treatment is ongoing. The bodies are being sent for post-mortem.

He said that instructions have been given to investigate the causes of the accident in depth. There will be a magisterial inquiry into the entire incident. Teams of Labor Department and Factory Inspectorate have also been called for detailed investigation. There are also reports circulating at the local level that this accident occurred due to boiler explosion, but the administration has not yet confirmed this. Police is investigating from every angle.
