Tata Sierra India Launch: The legendary Tata Sierra is back on the Indian roads. Tata has launched the iconic moniker after 22 years. Tata motors will position its new SUV below the Harrier in the brand lineup. The SUVs are dominating the automobile market globally. The Indian automobile giant is planning to stretch its portfolio. The brand-new Tata Sierra will help the company to dominate the roads in country.




Tata Sierra Safety Suite details




The Tata Sierra promises enhanced safety to its consumers with more than 20 features as part of its Level 2 ADAS package. The car comes with 6 airbags and seatbelt anchor pre-tensioners. The brand-new Tata Sierra ISOFIX tethers for child safety and 3-point ELR seatbelt for all passengers. Tata Motors claims that the body structure of the car is designed to have similar crash performance in frontal and side impact

Tata Sierra real world safety performance




To check the real world safety of car Tata Motors has crashed two Sierra. This was done to replicate the real world crash scenario and Tata is the first Indian automobile brand to do so.




The results of the crash were surprising that the passenger cell remained intact while the doors were able to open post-crash. The fuel system of the car remained sealed which will prevent any kind of crash fire. The belts were secured and were able to release to let the passenger out, while the overall structural integrity of the car remained intact.




Engine and colour options offered by Tata Sierra




The Tata Sierra will offer three engine options one with diesel and two with petrol engine. Sailesh Chandra, the CEO of Tata Motors confirmed that the brand-new Tata Sierra will launch with three powertrains options. The options include a 1.5-liter cryojet diesel mill as well as two petrol powertrains, one with 1.5-liter TGDi Hyperion and the other with a naturally aspired 1.5-liter Revotron unit.




The car will offer six monotone colours including Andaman Adventure, Bengal Rouge, Coorg Clouds, Mintal Grey, Munnar Mist and Pristine White.




Andaman Adventure and Bengal Rouge are by far the most eye-catching colours. The price of car is expected to be slightly higher between Rs. 20-25 lakhs (ex-showroom) for EV variant and for ICE-powered models the price will be between Rs.17-22 lakhs (ex-showroom)
