What is the news:The board has approved the proposal to connect the multimodal transport hub in Greater Noida with metro and railways. Hub and Logistics City has been included in the master plan 2041.
A big decision has been taken in Greater Noida. In the board meeting, the route to connect the multimodal transport hub with the metro line and railway was approved. 20 main proposals were passed and this project was included in the Master Plan 2041.
Officials said that the meeting was presided over by Development Commissioner and Chairman of Noida-Greater Noida Authority Deepak Kumar. The plans to the hub got the green signal in the 141st session of the board. A new route and logistics park arrangements have been decided for the metro.
This will impact industries and freight transportation. It will be easy to send containers and goods between Mumbai-Kolkata route. Production units will get faster supply chain and warehousing facilities will increase. Connectivity is also being added to the dedicated freight corridor, which will ease logistics work.
Details of work in short sentences: Multimodal transport hub will be built in 398 acres. Logistics City will be developed on 800 acres. The new metro route will be approximately 1.8 km long and will connect directly from the depot to the hub. The board asked to continue work on three big projects.
What’s next: With the project now in the master plan, further formalities and tender process will begin. Land preparation, construction and connectivity work is likely to happen sequentially. Information regarding time frame and phased work will be given later.
