Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey has graced our screens once again as he returns to a familiar role with Wicked: For Good.

The second instalment of the film adaptation Wicked has been released in cinemas this month based on the smash hit musical. It is set during a time before The Wizard of Oz, following Elphaba's unlikely friendship with Glinda and the events leading up to what we know from The Wizard of Oz.

Although not a direct prequel, many fans will see similarities and some questions answered. Starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, the film has become a huge success, bringing with it once again Brigerton star, Lord Antohony Bridgerton - Jonathan Bailey.

According to People, the Bridgerton legend was named the sexiest man alive of 2025. But is he dating anyone currently and if so, who is it?

Jonathan Bailey's partner and is he married?

Back in 2023, Jonathan Bailey confirmed he is in a relationship but had chosen to keep his partner's identity private. In an interview with The Standard, he said he was in a relationship with a "lovely man", adding his status was "not secret but private".

He is not married. However, before this, the star was reportedly dating actor James Ellis, although this was never publicly confirmed.

Bailey has kept all of his prior relationships private, also keeping his social media on his professional works rather than his personal life.

There was speculation during Jurassic World Rebirth with Scarlett Johansson as the two were seen kissing on red carpets and showed off their close bond. But rumours were put to bed as the pair confirmed their relationship was purely platonic.

Who does Jonathan Bailey play in Wicked and Wicked For Good?

Jonathan plays Fiyero who is a Winkie Prince. He starts off as the love interest for Glinda but later develops a romantic connection with Elphaba.

He later becomes a scarecrow after Elphaba cast a spell to keep him safe, but something went wrong. He subsequently helped Elphaba fake her own death and the two escaped Oz to live happily together.

The casting choice has gone down a treat with fans as one person wrote on Reddit: "So princely! Gorgeous! Masterful! Regal! Intense!"

Another penned: "I mean, I’m a fan of Bridgeton, but he was a REVELATION in this role. I might not survive As Long As You’re Mine in Part 2."

A third added: "I am OB-SESSED with Johnathan Bailey in ‘Dancing Through Life’."

Can Jonathan Bailey sing?

Yes Jonathan Bailey can sing and has a background in musical theatre. At the age of 7, the star started his stage career playing the roles of Tiny Tim and young Scrooge in the Royal Shakespeare Company's A Christmas Carol production.

He later performed in major West End productions including American Psycho The Musical, Certain Young Men and the Olivier Award Winning Company.
