Smriti Mandhana Wedding Postponed: In heartbreaking news, Indian women’s cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s wedding has been indefinitely postponed. Mandhana was due to marry Palash Muchhal, an actor, music composer, and film score composer, on November 23, Sunday, but the wedding ceremony did not take place because Smriti’s father had a heart- issue and was rushed to a hospital.
Mandhana and Palash, the brother of renowned Indian singer Palak Muchhal, have been dating for the last few years but have kept their relationship private. They had been spotted together at public places like cafes and restaurants, but neither had commented on their relationship status.
The couple officially revealed their relationship earlier this month after India won the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, where Mandhana played a starring role with the bat for India. India defeated South Africa in the final to clinch their maiden Women’s World Cup trophy.
In the tournament, Mandhana scored 434 runs at an average of 54 at a strike rate of 99. The left-handed opener slammed one century and two fifties in the home competition.
Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, spoke with the media, revealing that the cricketer’s father, Srinivas, complained of chest pain on Sunday morning and was rushed to the hospital. He was admitted at Sarvhit Hospital.
He added that the wedding, which was slated for Sunday, has been postponed with no further date in mind. This is heartbreaking news for the Indian fans, who were passionately waiting for the wedding ceremony, having followed all the rituals with interest.
Dr. Naman Shah, Director of Sarvhit Hospital, revealed that Smriti Manandana’s father “experienced symptoms of a heart attack around 11:30 am after feeling left-sided chest pain” and is under observation.
