PTC News Desk: Toronto Police have arrested 24-year-old Nicholas Singh, who was listed among Canada’s 25 most-wanted fugitives. Police said in a press release on Sunday morning (IST) that Singh was caught on Friday night near Bathurst Street and Dupont Street in Toronto. Officers found him sitting in a car and arrested him without any trouble.

During the search, police recovered a loaded handgun with an extended magazine and extra bullets. The gun’s serial number had been removed. Singh now faces several serious firearm-related charges, including possessing a loaded prohibited gun, having a firearm in a vehicle, and owning a gun without a licence. He appeared in court on Saturday.

Police said Singh’s arrest was made possible with help from the BOLO Program — a Canadian awareness campaign that shares photos and information about the country’s 25 most-wanted criminals on social media, news outlets and digital billboards to encourage public tips. The programme has helped catch many dangerous fugitives in recent years.

Singh was already wanted across Canada for breaking his parole conditions. He had previously served time for violent offences and was considered high-risk by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad. Because of his criminal history, he was placed on the BOLO Top 25 list until a tip from the public led to his arrest, police added.
