18 dangerous black-spots have been found on Delhi-Jaipur (NH-48) highway. There were 900 accidents and 377 deaths from January 2025 to October 31 — mostly at night.
18 black-spots have been identified in the traffic police investigation on Delhi-Jaipur National Highway NH-48. According to the report, from January 2025 to October 31, 2025, a total of 900 road accidents took place on the highway, in which 377 people died and more than 500 were injured. Most of the accidents have occurred at night and due to low light.
A special team of traffic police showed these black-spots and prepared a report. The report says that solar streetlights, high-mast lights, warning boards and reflective markings should be installed at these places. The same report has been sent to NHAI and local development authority GMDA, so that further action can be taken.
These changes will directly impact those traveling on the highway. In the areas where these spots were located, visibility was low at night and accidents were more frequent. Now the situation is likely to change at night when lights and signs will be installed where the work will be done, and travelers and local people will get information while passing through these places.
The specific measures suggested in the report, in short sentences — installation of solar streetlights, erecting high-mast lights, installation of warning boards, reflective lane markings. The 18 spots include Panchgaon Chowk, IFFCO Chowk, Bilaspur Chowk, Binola Flyover, many Chowks of Manesar. Besides, 13 urban roads connected to the highway have also been declared high-risk.
As the next step, the report has been sent to the concerned departments. NHAI and GMDA will decide further action based on the report. When the work will start and how it will be done depends on further orders and will be implemented only after the approval of the departments.
