Train Maggi Viral Video Central Railway Action: Serious questions have been raised about railway safety as a video of a woman passenger cooking noodles in an electric kettle in an air-conditioned (AC) coach of an express train went viral on social media.

Describing this incident as extremely dangerous, Central Railway has identified the woman and has started preparations for action against her. Officials said on Saturday that efforts were on to trace the woman and a case would be registered against her under Section 147(1) of the Railways Act.

Maggi was made in electric kettle

It is seen in the video that the woman plugs the electric kettle into the mobile charging socket and is cooking noodles through it. In the video, the woman says in Marathi language that she has prepared tea for 10-15 people in the same manner. After this clip went viral on social media, concerns like safety of passengers, risk of fire and impact on the train’s AC system deepened.

Railways called it dangerous

Central Railway has termed such action as illegal, unsafe and punishable. According to the Railways, high capacity appliances like electric kettles can cause major fire incidents in trains. This not only endangers the lives of passengers, but can also cause serious disruption in the power supply of AC and other electronic ports.

Railways has also initiated action against the social media channels that had posted the video. Officials said such dangerous acts pose a serious threat to the safety of passengers and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Central Railway has appealed to the people to immediately report any suspicious or dangerous activity in the train to the railway authorities so that the journey remains safe and smooth.
