Star Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has just shared the exciting news of her engagement to music composer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal, and she did it in style with a playful Instagram reel featuring her teammates. 

While Mandhana has generally kept her personal life under wraps, whispers about her relationship with Muchhal had been making the rounds for quite some time. In fact, Muchhal had teased fans back in October during an event at the State Press Club in Indore, jokingly suggesting that Mandhana would soon be the daughter-in-law of Indore. 

That cheeky comment sparked a flurry of speculation, but the now-famous reel has put all those questions to rest. This announcement comes on the heels of Mandhana's pivotal role in India’s historic ICC Women’s ODI World Cup victory. 

The engagement reveal was a delightful dance video set to the Bollywood hit 'Samjho Ho Hi Gaya' from Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Mandhana, along with her teammates Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav, and Arundhati Reddy, showcased their moves in a choreographed routine. As the music wound down, Mandhana lifted her hand to the camera, giving a subtle glimpse of her engagement ring and confirming the long-anticipated news.

On the cricketing front, Mandhana has just come off a stellar World Cup performance, where she was a key player for India, amassing a record-breaking 434 runs in nine innings with an impressive average of 54.22. She broke Mithali Raj’s record for the most runs by an Indian in a single Women’s ODI World Cup and even scored a century against New Zealand. 

In the final against South Africa, she played a crucial role, helping India get off to a fantastic start alongside Shafali Verma. While Laura Wolvaardt topped the overall run charts, Mandhana finished as the tournament's second-highest run-scorer.
