Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed the ‘South India Natural Farming Summit’ in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and released the 21st installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Under this, an amount of more than Rs 18,000 crore was transferred directly to the bank accounts of more than nine crore farmers across the country. Lakhs of farmers in Tamil Nadu also got the benefit of this scheme.

PM Modi said in his address that there has been a big change in the agriculture sector of the country in the last 11 years. Agricultural exports have almost doubled. The government has opened the doors of all kinds of help to the farmers, so that farming can be modernized. Referring to future plans, he said, ‘In the coming time, India will become the world center of natural farming. Our biodiversity is taking a new form. Today’s youth is considering farming as a modern and big opportunity. This will give a lot of strength to the economy of villages.

He said, ‘Some time ago, we had released the installment of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi through this platform. Rs 18,000 crore were transferred to farmers in all corners of the country. Lakhs of farmers in Tamil Nadu have also received funds in their accounts under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Describing natural farming as very close to his heart, Prime Minister Modi praised the organization of the conference and the exhibition. He told that he met many young farmers in the exhibition. Some are mechanical engineers, some are PhD holders, some are leaving NASA and doing farming and training others.
PM Modi said, ‘If I had not come to this program today, I would have missed a lot in life. I have learned a lot by coming here. I salute the courage of the farmers of Tamil Nadu and their strength to adopt change.
At the same time, when some farmers waved their towels in the air as soon as they came on the stage, the Prime Minister said smilingly, ‘It seems that the wind of Bihar reached here before me.’ A large number of farmers, youth and agriculture experts were present in the program. The Prime Minister called upon everyone to promote natural farming and engage the new generation.
