(Ingredients) Gram flour (Besan): 1 cup Onion: 1 small, finely chopped Tomato: 1 small, finely chopped Green Chilli: 1, finely chopped (you can add more or less as per taste) Coriander Leaves: 2 teaspoons, finely chopped Celery (Carom seeds): One fourth (¼) teaspoon Turmeric Powder: One fourth (¼) Tablespoon Salt: As per taste Oil/Ghee: For baking Water: For making batter How to make? (Method of preparation) Prepare the batter: First of all sift the gram flour in a big bowl. Now add finely chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, green coriander, celery, turmeric powder and salt as per taste. Add water: Now add water little by little and mix it well so that no lumps remain in it. Keep in mind that the solution should neither be too thick nor too thin. Its consistency should be like dosa batter. Beat the batter well so that the cheela becomes soft. Heat the pan: Now heat a non-stick pan or iron pan on gas. When the pan gets hot, add a few drops of oil or ghee on it and grease it. Spread the cheela: Now with the help of a big spoon or bowl, pour the gram flour batter in the middle of the pan and spread it by rotating it in a circular motion with the back of the spoon. Do not keep the cheela too thick. Cook from both sides: Let the cheela cook on medium flame for about 2-3 minutes on one side. When it starts looking a little dry on top and starts leaving the sides, add a little oil or ghee on its sides and top. Now turn it over and cook the other side until it becomes golden and crisp. That’s it! Your hot, tasty and nutritious gram flour cheela is ready. You can serve it with curd, green chutney or your favorite sauce. This is also a great option for children’s tiffin.
