Actor Kalyani Priyadarshan has joined the growing list of stars praising ' Kaantha ', Dulquer Salmaan ’s latest period drama directed by Selvamani Selvaraj.
Sharing her thoughts through an Instagram Story, Kalyani expressed how deeply the film moved her. “THIS MIGHT ACTUALLY BE MY FAVOURITE @DQSALMAAN PERFORMANCE (AND FOR ANYONE WHO KNOWS ME, THAT’S SAYING A LOT). WENT IN KNOWING ALMOST NOTHING AND CAME OUT MOVED,” she wrote, making her admiration clear.
The 'Lokah' star also shared that she gets “extra excited” whenever Dulquer speaks Tamil on screen. Elaborating on his cultural connection, she added, “I know how much he loves the language and how deep that connection runs.” Recently, Dulquer himself mentioned that people feel he speaks Tamil better than Malayalam because of his Chennai upbringing — a sentiment Kalyani echoed with affection.
Cheering for Samuthirakani, Bhagyashri and Rana
Kalyani also gave a heartfelt shout-out to Samuthirakani, revealing that she wasn’t only cheering for Dulquer’s dialogues. “@THONDANKANI SIR, I THOUGHT I’D ONLY BE CHEERING FOR DQS LINES BUT I WAS CHEERING FOR YOURS TOO!” she wrote.
She tagged Bhagyashri Borse, praising her screen presence with a sweet note: “As I told you… my eyes go straight to you on screen no matter who else is there.”
Kalyani didn’t forget Rana Daggubati, writing, “Always love watching you doing what you do best.”
Her full note concluded with praise for director Selvamani Selvaraj, music composer Jakes Bejoy, and the film’s entire cast, saying she was “so happy for everyone who poured their heart into the film.”
