Chatgpt Group Chat: OpenAI has started a new pilot program in select countries from November 13, under which ChatGPT Group chat feature has been added. How does this feature work?

• When joining a group chat for the first time, you have to set up a profile with a name, username, and photo. All group chats will appear in a separate section in the sidebar.

These chats work just like normal ChatGPT chats, but multiple people can have a conversation at once. Group chats run on GPT-5.1 Auto, which chooses the right model according to the user’s plan. All facilities like file upload, image generation, dictation and chat search are available. Reply limit will apply only to ChatGPT and not to users.

ChatGPT will understand social signals

The AI ​​has been trained to respond to group environments so that it responds only when necessary. When needed, users can ask him to respond by tagging “@ChatGPT”. The AI ​​can react with emojis and even customize images based on group members’ profile photos.
