Thomas Tuchel is considering singing the national anthem at next year’s World Cup. Tuchelsaid he would have to earn the right to sing God Save The King after taking up the job as England manager.
And now England’sfirst ever German boss has led the Three Lions to the United States next summer after a 100 per cent record in their qualifying campaign.
England boss Tuchel admits he is loving the job and gave a broad grin when he was asked as to whether he thought he had now earned the right to sing the national anthem at the World Cup.
“You think it is already there,” asked Tuchel. “I will think about it. Yeah, maybe. Let’s see.”
The national anthem became a thorny issue when interim boss Lee Carsley, who represented the Republic of Ireland as a player, said he would not sing God Save The King during his spell in charge.

That caused a big debate and backlash which then made it a hot topic after the Football Association appointed a German to manage England.
However, Tuchel handled the situation brilliantly as he said he would decide at a later when he first took charge and then, in March, said he would have to earn the right to sing it.
Tuchel said last year: “You have a very powerful, emotional and meaningful national anthem, and I could not be more proud to be on the sideline and be in charge of the English national team. It means everything. It means a lot to me, I can assure you.
“But I can feel it because it is that meaningful and it is that emotional and it is so powerful the national anthem that I have to earn my right to sing it.
“I will earn it with results, with building a group, with doing my job properly and by creating a feeling where maybe even you guys say at some point 'Now it's time that you sing it, it feels like you need to properly earn it and you're a proper English guy now!”
And now it appears that Tuchel could sing God Save The King at the World Cup next summer.
Meanwhile, Tuchel is ready to make changes in Albania which will keep Premier League managers happy. Tuchel admitted that he is conscious some of his big names are in the middle of a difficult schedule for their clubs in the title race and Champions League campaigns.
That could see a more experimental line-up to face Albania on Sunday which is England’s final World Cup qualifier in this campaign.
It could also herald a chance to experiment with the likes of Bournemouth ’s Alex Scott who was left out of the squad against Serbia while the likes of Declan Rice, Reece James and John Stones may get a breather.
Tuchel said: “Some of the guys are pretty tired with their physical input and we will not take risks with any players. Players are used to playing Thursday-Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday. It is not a problem but let’s see, let’s do an assessment.
“We have two training sessions and last time after Andorra there were two or three players who trained their way into the Serbia match with outstanding training performances so the door is open. I haven’t decided yet.”
