Bathua (scientific name Nopodium album) is a green leafy vegetable loaded with plant compounds and nutrients. According to the National Library of Medicine, Bathua contains many minerals and vitamins including flavonoids, phenolics. Apart from this, protein and amino acids are also found in Bathua. When you make raita out of it, it becomes even healthier when mixed with curd.

To make raita, you will need 200 grams of bathua, double it i.e. 400 grams of curd, one fourth spoon of salt or as per taste. 1 fourth teaspoon black salt, 1 green chilli, 1 pinch asafoetida, half teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon ghee or oil. You can increase or decrease the ingredients as per need.

To make raita, put the ground bathua in a big bowl and add whipped curd to it. After this add black salt, white salt, green chilli and mix. To apply tadka, heat ghee or oil well in a pan and add cumin seeds to it and crackle. Switch off the gas and immediately add asafoetida to add flavor to the raita. In this way, your Bathua raita is prepared in simple steps, which is not only delicious but also beneficial for your health.
