India vs South Africa, 1st Test: The first day’s play of the first match of the two-match Test series being played between India and South Africa has ended. Of the three sessions on the first day, two sessions were in the name of India and one session was shared. At the end of the day, India has scored 37 runs at the loss of 1 wicket.


KL Rahul is unbeaten on 13 and Washington Sundar is unbeaten on 6 runs. The only wicket has fallen that of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal was out after scoring 12 runs. Now on the second day, good innings will be expected from Rahul and Washington Sundar and the Indian team will look to take the lead on the basis of first innings.


South Africa batted first


Earlier, South African captain Temba Bavuma had won the toss and decided to bat first. The pair of Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickleton gave a strong start to the team and added 57 runs for the first wicket. But after the breakup of this pair, South Africa’s innings faltered and was reduced to 159 runs in 55 overs. Aiden Markram scored 31 runs. He was the top scorer of the innings. Viaan Mulder scored 24 and Tony DeGeorge scored 24 runs. Rickleton was out after scoring 23 runs. Captain Temba Bavuma was out after scoring 3 runs.


Bumrah’s claw


The biggest threat for South Africa was fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah took 5 wickets for 27 runs in 14 overs. Bumrah took 5 wickets for the 16th time in his Test career. Apart from this, Mohammad Siraj took 2 wickets and Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets. Akshar Patel got 1 wicket.



Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul started the innings from India’s side. Jaiswal looked aggressive, but lost his wicket early. Jaiswal was out after scoring 12 runs with the help of 3 fours in 27 balls. Rahul and Sundar have made a partnership of 19 runs for the second wicket. Both the pair looked more defensive. Rahul is playing on 13 runs on 59 balls and Sundar is playing on 6 runs on 38 balls. Marco Jansen has taken the only wicket for South Africa. Yansen bowled Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Indian team is 122 runs behind South Africa in the first innings. It is expected that tomorrow the Indian team will perform better and will be able to take the lead.
