What drew Manoj Bajpayee to RGV's 'Police Station Mein Bhoot'

Manoj Bajpayee, known for his diverse roles, is now working on Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming horror-comedy, Police Station Mein Bhoot.

Speaking about his experience with Varma, Bajpayee said that the director sees him differently than others do.

He also praised Varma's growth as a filmmaker since their first collaboration on Satya (1998).

Bajpayee, who has previously worked with Varma on films like Kaun (1999), Shool (1999), and Sarkar 3 (2017), said, "Ramu makes me do things that others don't."

He told Mid-Day, "I have never been a part of a horror comedy before, and I really got to learn a lot from a master of horror. Ramu sees me differently from others."

"He sees an aspect of [me] which others fail to do. I enjoy exploring that aspect with him," he added.

Bajpayee also spoke about how Varma has changed as a filmmaker since their first collaboration.

He said, "He is more independent, self-reliant, grounded, and deeper today."

"This film will be a creative shock. He looks at life more as a modern philosopher and filmmaker."

"I enjoy his company on and off set. It is a challenging role and I was pushed hard as an actor, but I loved doing it," he added.

In Police Station Mein Bhoot, Bajpayee plays an honest cop possessed by the spirit of a notorious gangster he killed.

The haunting turns him into a maniacal force, leading to hilarious situations inside the police station.

The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh as Bajpayee's wife and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles.

The film is currently in post-production.
