Winter session of Parliament to begin on December 1

The winter session of Parliament will be held from December 1 to December 19, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced on Saturday.
President Droupadi Murmu has approved the government's proposal for the session.
"Looking forward to a constructive and meaningful session that strengthens our democracy and serves the aspirations of the people," Rijiju said in a post on X.
Last year's winter session
Previous session
Last year's winter session was held from November 25 to December 20. It included 20 Lok Sabha sittings and 19 Rajya Sabha sittings over 26 days.
The Lok Sabha's productivity was around 54.5%, while the Rajya Sabha's was approximately 40%.
During this session, five bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha; four were passed by it and three by the Rajya Sabha.
Parliament's monsoon session
Recent session
The Parliament's monsoon session was held from July 21 to August 21, with both houses witnessing low productivity due to repeated disruptions.
Lok Sabha worked for only 37 hours of the scheduled 120 hours, while Rajya Sabha managed 41 hours and 15 minutes of work, with a productivity of 31% and 38.8%, respectively.
During this session, a total of 14 bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha, and 12 were passed by it.
