New Delhi : Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan’s son and former MLA Abdullah Azam Khan has suffered a shock. The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to quash the FIR lodged against Abdullah Azam Khan on charges of using fake documents to obtain a passport. In this case, the Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the Allahabad High Court. Abdullah Azam Khan had approached the Supreme Court after the High Court’s decision. During the hearing of the case on Thursday, the Supreme Court clearly refused to interfere in the High Court order.

Justice Sundaresh refused to give relief to Abdullah Azam Khan and said that he should trust the trial court. Let the matter be decided in the trial court. Now that the trial has been completed, we cannot interfere. Earlier, Allahabad High Court rejected Abdullah Azam Khan’s application saying that the complete trial has been conducted in this case. Charges were framed on 9 September 2021 in the fake documents case to Abdullah Azam Khan. In this case, Civil Line police station of Rampur had registered a case against Abdullah.


It was alleged in the FIR that Abdullah Azam Khan got a passport made with the help of fake documents, in which his date of birth is recorded as 30 September 1990, whereas according to school records, his actual date of birth is 1 January 1993. Allahabad High Court had also given a blow to Abdullah Azam Khan in two PAN card cases. Abdullah Azam approached the High Court and demanded cancellation of the entire proceedings in the ongoing trial in Rampur MP-MLA Court. After hearing the parties, Allahabad High Court had reserved its decision. After this, the petition was rejected in July.
