However apart from tourism Indians are also a major player in the buildings real estate. A one-bedroom flat in Burj Khalifa can fetch an annual rent of 150000 to 180000 dirhams (more than Rs 42 lakh). This Indian doesnt just have one or two flats—he has 22 apartments in the building which earned him the title of King of Burj Khalifa. With 163 floors the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world and contains 900 apartments. Of these 150 apartments are owned by Indian nationals as reported by ZeeNews Hindi.
What inspired him to invest in the world’s tallest building?
One Indian businessman George V Nereamparambil owns an astonishing 22 apartments. Originally from Kerala George bought 22 luxury apartments in this world-famous tower. The media has dubbed him the “King of Burj Khalifa”. As the largest private property owner in Burj Khalifa he has become a living testament to ambition and success in the world of luxury real estate in Dubai.
Why is he called the “King of Burj Khalifa”?
George V Nereamparambil was born into a middle-class family in Kerala. At the young age of 11 he began to support his family. He started in the cash crop trade working in transportation and doing mechanical work. He even started a side business of creating glue from cotton seeds. He went even further by selling waste and making money by selling garbage. Through these different ventures early in his life George earned a significant amount of income which amplified his future wealth.
Where in India is he originally from?
In 1976 George relocated to Sharjah and identifying a chance began working in the field of air-conditioning services in Dubai with the progression of establishing the GEO Group of Companies. As he began developing his business he experienced obstacles and ridicule. If media reports are to be believed a family member teased him saying he would never get to set foot in the Burj Khalifa. George took those words to heart and allowed that energy to propel him to accomplish that situation of what others considered impossible.
The insults from his relative wounded George to such a degree that he promised himself he would not just visit the Burj Khalifa but would also own a piece of it. He noticed an advertisement in a newspaper for a rental apartment within the Burj Khalifa. In 2010 he decided to rent it. He did not stop with one or two rental apartments. In the end he acquired 22 luxury apartments out of the building’s 900. He vicariously turned his determination to make a trip to Burj Khalifa into a remarkable success.
