Dhamtari, 25 October (Read News). Dhamtari Collector Abinash Mishra, using the powers granted in Section 73 of the Chhattisgarh Land Revenue Code 1959, has passed an order to separate Village Puri Number-2 from Village Puri of Revenue Inspector Division Chest under Tehsil Dhamtari and constitute it as an independent revenue village. This order will be effective from the revenue year 2025-26.


According to the information received from the Collector’s office today on Saturday, both villages Puri and Puri Number-2 come under the same Gram Panchayat and their boundaries are adjacent to each other. In the last survey year 1996-97, both the villages were Puri M.No. 01 and Puri M.No. Are recorded as 02. At present the names of both the villages are registered separately in Bhunia software also. Separate maps, Khasra Panchshala, Kishtbandi Khatauni and other revenue records have been prepared for village Puri number-2 and both villages Puri. Advertisements regarding separation of the two villages were published on 25 August 2021, on which no objection was received. Subsequently, in the Gram Sabha held on October 7, 2021, the proposal to declare the village as a separate revenue village was passed unanimously.


Collector Mishra has mentioned in his order that sufficient free land, geographical area, population, pasture land, roads, primary school, Anganwadi, pond, cemetery, chaupal and other community facilities exist separately for both the villages. According to Census 2011, the population of Puri No. 02 is 521 and the population of Puri is 1712. The Collector has directed the Superintendent of Land Records to form a team within a month of the issue of the order and complete the renumbering process starting from Khasra Number-1 of both the villages and also prepare the map and other Patwari records separately and submit the compliance report. A copy of this order has been sent for publication in Chhattisgarh Gazette and all concerned departments have been instructed to register both the villages as separate revenue villages in their records.
