The third ODI between India and Australia will take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, October 25. Australia has already won the first two matches in Perth and Adelaide by 7 and 2 wickets, giving them a 2-0 lead in the series. The hosts aim to complete a historic whitewash against India. Meanwhile, under Shubman Gill’s first series as ODI captain, India will be looking to secure at least one win.

Following poor performances by the Indian bowlers in the first two ODIs, the team management might bring Kuldeep Yadav into the playing XI for the third match in Sydney.

Kuldeep Yadav performed exceptionally well for India in the Asia Cup 2025 and the two-match Test series against the West Indies earlier this month, finishing as the top wicket-taker in both.

In Sydney, where he has previously taken a five-wicket haul in Test cricket, he could replace either Nitish Kumar Reddy or Washington Sundar in the playing XI.

Reddy scored just 8 runs in the second ODI and gave away 24 runs in his three overs. Sundar, meanwhile, scored 12 runs and took two wickets while conceding 37 runs in his seven overs at the Adelaide Oval.

India’s likely playing XI for 3rd ODI: Shubman Gill (C), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (WK), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna.
