Unnao. A big good news has come for the people of Bangarmau tehsil area of Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh. The main road which has been in poor condition for years will now be widened. This is the same road which starts from Hardoi Marg and goes to Sandila Road via Haibatpur, Chakhanuman, Ranipur Grunt via the railway underpass near Lucknow-Agra Expressway. More than 16,000 vehicles pass daily on this 10.260 kilometer long road.
Now the road will be seven meters wide, not three.
At present this road is only three meters wide, due to which there is a situation of jams and accidents every day. Now this road will be more than doubled to seven meters wide. This will not only benefit the city residents, but people of dozens of rural areas will also get huge relief in commuting.
Approval of Rs 21.30 crore, first fund also released
This work is now going to be realized due to the efforts of Bangarmau MLA Shrikant Katiyar. He had written a letter to the Public Works Department (PWD) on August 12, 2024, demanding to improve the condition of the road. After this, the department made a proposal and sent it to the government, which has been approved. The state government has approved the budget of Rs 21.30 crore and has also released Rs 6.39 crore as the first instalment.
Construction work will start in a month
According to PWD XEN Subodh Kumar, the tender process has been started and the construction work will be started in about a month. This widening will not only provide better road facilities to the local people, but will also accelerate the socio-economic development of the area.
The current condition of the road is very bad
At present, this road is full of potholes and dislodged gravel, due to which it has become very difficult to drive vehicles. After widening and repair, this route will not only become safer, but this major connective route connecting the expressway and the surrounding villages will also become stronger.
