Mahavatar Narasimha arrives on OTT

The grand animation film ‘Mahavatar Narsingh’, inspired by Indian mythology, is going to be available on the OTT platform soon. The film is based on the stories of Vishnu Purana, Narasimha Purana and Srimad Bhagwat Purana and was screened in theaters on 25 July 2025. Although the film’s theater was not discussed much at the time of release, it performed brilliantly at the box office and is now ready to start its new journey on Netflix.

Announcement of release on Netflix

Netflix India announced its release date, sharing the poster of the film on its official X handle. The caption reads, ‘This lion’s roar can drop an empire. Watch ‘Mahavatar Narasimha’, September 19, at 12:30 pm only on Netflix. ‘ This announcement has created a wave of excitement in the audience, especially among those who could not see it in the theater.

The story and influence of the film

The film leads the story of the struggle between Prahlad and his father demon Raja Hiranyakashipu. It shows the appearance of Narasimha, the fiery incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Critics described it as not just a religious story, but an emotional and visible journey. In the review of India Today, it has been called ‘Filling Experience Filling Experience’.

Box office success and future plans

Mahavatar Narasimha achieved great success at the box office despite limited publicity. The film is the first episode of the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, which will include stories of ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Other films of this universe will be released in future such as Mahavatar Parashuram (2027), Mahavatar Raghunandan (2029), Mahavatar Dhwakadhish (2031), Mahavatar Gopulanand (2033) and Mahavatar Kalki (2035–2037).

Director Ashwin Kumar said that ‘our aim with Cleim Productions and Hombale Films is to present India’s legacy on a never -seen cinematic scale. Through Mahavatar Universe Dashavatar, the spiritual experience will be taken to the big screen and now to the OTT. Now India will roar.
