Pitru paksha 2025: The holy time of Pitrupaksha is being celebrated with reverence and faith in the whole country these days. According to the scriptures, by performing Shraddha according to the date of the ancestors, their soul attains peace and salvation. At the same time, happiness, prosperity and good fortune increases in the life of descendants. This year Pitrupaksha started from September 7 and it will conclude on 21 September with Sarvapitri Amavasya.
In Hinduism, Pitrupaksha has special significance to express gratitude to the ancestors. During these 16 days, people perform Shraddha and Tarpan of their ancestors. It is believed that on the date on which someone has died, he gets a virtue by performing Shraddha on the same date. Today i.e. September 18 is the Shraddha of Dwadashi Tithi.
According to Drik Panchang, Dwadashi Tithi will start from 11:39 pm on the night of 17 September and will remain for 11:24 am on the morning of 18 September. After this, Trayodashi date will start. For this reason, Dwadashi Shraddha will be done today i.e. on 18 September.
According to religious beliefs, on the Dwadashi date, Shraddha of those ancestors is performed who died on the Dwadashi date of Krishna or Shukla Paksha of any month. Apart from this, people who have adopted the life of sannyas or disinterest, their shraddha is also performed on this day. For this reason, it is also called Saints Shraddha. It is believed that this Shraddha leads to age, health, prosperity and victory.

On this day, after taking a bath in the morning, clean the house with Ganga water and cow urine.

Make Rangoli in the courtyard and prepare satvic food for the ancestors.
First of all, invite the Brahmins and provide food and donate them and donate them.
Shraddha Karma has special significance of sesame, white clothes, milk, honey, Ganga water, white flowers and cows.
After bathing in Shraddha, water is offered with the thumb of the right hand.
After this, bodies made of flour, rice, black sesame, honey and ghee are offered to the ancestors.
After this, there is a tradition to provide food to Brahmins.
A part of food as ancestors’ offerings, ants, cows, crows and dogs are also offered.
In the end, prayers are given to the needy and prayed for the peace of the soul of the ancestors.
