In a relief for households Mother Dairy has announced a price cut across many of its dairy and food products following the government’s new GST 2.0 revamp. The revised prices will take effect from September 22. With GST rates on several essentials either reduced or scrapped Mother Dairy said that almost its entire product range now falls under either the zero-tax bracket or the lowest 5 per cent slab.
This means everyday items like paneer butter cheese ghee milkshakes and ice creams will now be cheaper. For example:

A 500-gram pack of butter will cost Rs. 285 instead of Rs. 305.
A butterscotch cone ice cream will drop to Rs. 30 from Rs. 35.
A 200 gm pack of paneer will now be priced at Rs. 92 (down from Rs. 95)
A 1-litre ghee carton pack will drop to Rs. 645 from Rs. 675.
The price of a 100 gm butter pack has also been reduced to Rs. 58 compared to Rs. 62 earlier.

The company added that other items such as Cassatta ice cream pickles tomato puree and Safal frozen French fries will also see lower prices.
However don’t expect changes in the price of regular pouch milk since it has always been GST-exempt. The reduction applies to UHT milk for instance a 1-litre toned tetra pack will now be priced at Rs. 75 down from Rs. 77.
