The National E-Governance Division (NEGD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (NEGD) announced on 31 August 2025, has achieved a significant achievement by uniting around 2,000 e-governance services on Digilocker and e-District Platforms in all 36 states and union territories. This program applied at the all -India level provides uninterrupted access to citizens to services such as certificates, welfare schemes and utility payments, which promotes efficiency, transparency and paper -free governance under Digital India initiative.


Digilocker is a foundation stone of Digital infrastructure in India, which ensures safe and intermediate access to services and strengthens citizens with reliable digital solutions. Maharashtra is at the top with 254 services, followed by Delhi (123), Karnataka (113), Assam (102) and Uttar Pradesh (86). Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir offer each 77 services, while Andhra Pradesh (76), Gujarat (64), Tamil Nadu (63), Goa (63), Haryana (60) and Himachal Pradesh (58) contribute to a total of 1,938 services available across the country.


Since its establishment in 2009 under Digital India Corporation, NeGD has carried on e-governance by managing platforms such as DigiLocker, Umang and Myskim, supporting Meity in program management and technical advisory roles. This achievement is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digitally inclusive India’s approach, which leads to sustainable development goals through mobile governance.


By June 2025, with more than 53.84 crore registered users and 949.24 crore digital documents, Digilocker’s strong structure will continue to change the regime, will make services accessible anytime, anytime, and strengthen India’s digital empowerment journey.
