Cyber Security Agency of Government of India in July 2025 Cert-in (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team) Microsoft Windows And issued a serious warning for Office users. This warning is placed in the “high-saverity” category, which means the danger is extremely serious and users need to take immediate action.

Dangerous weaknesses found in Microsoft products

According to the CERT-in report, many of the software of Microsoft have been found to take advantage of such vulnerabilites which can take advantage of cyber attackers in the following ways:

• Get full control over the system


• Theft of sensitive data


• Run by running remote code


• Bypassing security measures


• Changes in system settings


• Crashing server and network


• Spulling attack means infiltration into someone else’s identity

Hackers using these weaknesses can target not only individual users but also corporate systems and cloud services.

These microsoft services are threatened

The services that Cert-in have been in danger include:

• Microsoft Windows


• Microsoft Office


• Microsoft Dynamics


• Microsoft Edge and other browsers


• Azure (Cloud Services)


• Developer Tools


• SQL Server


• System Center


• Microsoft’s old services for which ESU (Extended Security Updates) are released


• Some third party apps

All users who are using these services or products should be alerted immediately.

Microsoft takes steps, important advice for users

Microsoft has taken this danger seriously and has released security patches and updates for all affected products. The company said in the statement: “So far these weaknesses have not been misused on a large scale, but the danger is not completely averted.”

Both Microsoft and CERT-IN have advised that users turn on the automatic update in their system, install all the latest updates and restart the device so that all security features become activated and the system remains safe.
