Shubman Gill Slams Batters for India Loss At Lords: India captain Shubman Gill rued India’s batting malfunction in the last hour of day 4 following their heartbreaking defeat in the IND vs ENG 3rd Test at Lord’s.

Chasing 193 runs in the Lord’s Test, India were bowled out for 170, losing the game by 22 runs. Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten 61, KL Rahul’s 39, and defiant efforts from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj went in vain as England took a 2-1 lead in the five-match IND vs ENG Test series with two games to go.

Captain Gill lamented India losing three wickets in the last hour on the penultimate day of the match during their chase. India had gone from 41/1 to 58/4, as Ben Stokes and Brydon Carse put in a fiery effort towards the conclusion of day 4.

That mini-collapse from India allowed England to get right back in the game and gain the momentum which they used in the morning of day 5 to take three more wickets in the first hour.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, Shubman Gill said,

Jadeja, Bumrah, and Siraj gave India a flicker of hope as the trio survived for more than a session but eventually it was not to be as the two tailenders were dismissed, leaving Jadeja stranded on 60*.

Shubman Gill remains coy on whether Jasprit Bumrah will play in the fourth Test

The India vs England Test series will now move to Manchester, where the fourth Test will be played from July 23. One of the important decision to make for India will be to play Jasprit Bumrah or rest him.

He featured in the first and third Tests, and rested in the second. He is slated to play one of the two remaining Test matches to manage his workload.

When asked whether Bumrah will play in the fourth Test at Old Trafford, Gill commented, “You will get to know about it soon.”
