Lifestyle lifestyle,Preity Tiwari, who lives in Rasgulla Basti of Belgachia, went to the doctor for not getting relief from cough problem for a week. After several tests, it was found that Preeti had lung cancer.

However, Preity told the doctor that she never smoked. Still why Preeti got this disease?

Recently, a research paper published in the scientific magazine ‘Lancet’ has revealed that apart from smoking, environmental air pollution also increases the risk of lung cancer in women.

There are more cases of this type of cancer in Indian women. This pollution is mainly spread through cooking fuel. Two scientists from an educational institution in Chennai have come to this conclusion after conducting a survey on about 1500 women from 10 cities of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad.

The study report said that 58 percent of the 1,500 women who do not smoke were suffering from problems such as breathing cancer, as well as problems such as breathing cancer, asthma, and eye water.

According to the research paper, the reason for this is that a large part of women in the country spends time in the kitchen, which is causing a major problem. The polluted smoke produced during cooking enters the body directly and damages the lungs.

Scientists claim that many people are not aware that it is harmful to the body. In addition, the poisonous smoke emanating from burning incense sticks and mosquito -breaking coils is also entering the body through the breath.

A few days ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) described environmental smoke as one of the causes of lung cancer. This requested the administration to spread awareness on this issue.

According to the lung specialist Dr. Raja Dhar, “Even today many people use wood-coil stove instead of gas. Many polluted gases including carbon dioxide enter the body and damage the lungs.”

Roychowdhari, Professor of Environmental Sciences at Jadavpur University, said, “Many diseases including lung cancer are increasing due to pollution from LPG and Charcoal. The administration should make people aware of it.”
