The weather department has predicted that light to heavy rains with thunderstorms will continue in Jammu division for the next six days. Monday also started with rain in Jammu. Jammu received 18.4 mm of rain, Katra received 11.6 mm of rain. Maximum humidity was recorded at 98 and minimum at 73 percent.



Contrary to the weather department’s forecast of rain, the unbearable heat continues in the valley. Although intermittent rain is expected at many places in the coming days, an increase in heat is also expected in many areas during this time.



The maximum temperature in Jammu on Monday was recorded at 32.3 degrees Celsius, 4.7 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was 24.3 degrees Celsius, which was 1.7 degrees below normal. Meteorological Department Director Dr. Mukhtar said, due to the mild effect of monsoon, there will be a change in the weather of the valley.



There will be intermittent rain in some upper areas. The weather will remain generally dry in most areas. Heat will also bother. The temperature will go up to 30-35 degrees in most places. The director said that the weather will remain the same till July 8. On the other hand, the weather remained dry on Monday as well. The scorching heat bothered people as the temperature remained several degrees above normal in most areas including Srinagar. To cool down, people were seen taking a dip in Jhelum, Dal Lake and ponds.
