Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film Ramayana is among the most anticipated releases, set to arrive in two parts, with the first hitting theatres in 2026. The movie also stars Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol. Recently, KGF star Srinidhi Shetty shared that she had done a screen test for the role of Sita in the film and felt confident about her chances, as her screen test had gone well.
Addressing the speculation about her being considered for the role of Sita in Ramayana, actress Srinidhi Shetty confirmed that she did audition for the film.
"Now, as already the shoot is happening, I can say it I guess," she shared. "Yes, I did meet and give a screen test. I remember preparing three scenes very nicely, and they also had a great response; they loved it."
While promoting her upcoming film Hit 3 opposite Nani, Srinidhi reflected on the timing of her audition.
"I had heard that Yash was a part of Ramayana, and at that time, KGF 2 had released, and the pair was a hit, people were loving it," she recalled. "In just a month or two, this happened [Ramayana audition]. So, I was thinking, he will play Raavan, I will play Sita; we will be pitted against each other."
Despite not being cast, she expressed her admiration for the final choice. "I think Sai Pallavi is a great choice. I would love to see her as Sita in the movie," she said, adding positively, "and like I always say, when something works great, when something doesn't work it is wonderful because you will have some great doors opening for you."
